Doutreleau est né le 14 Juin 1938. Originaire d'Arles, il a grandi dans cette lumière qui a ébloui Van Gogh, Cézanne et tant d'autres peintres. En 1968, lors d'un séjour aux États Unis, il aura la révélation de ce qui allait devenir l'objet de ses recherches: la vitesse et le mouvement. Depuis ces années, de nombreuses expositions personnelles ont fait connaitre Doutreleau partout dans le monde, et de Paris a Los Angeles, de Tokyo a Munich ou Rio, ses œuvres figurent dans de nombreuses collections. "Tendue, c'est l'émotion qui donne vie a l'œuvre. C'est dans le silence que nait le cri. L'art est ce cri mille fois répété, le tableau son champ de bataille...". ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Doutreleau was born on 14th June 1938 in Arles. He grew up there, in the light that dazzled Van Gogh, Cezanne and so many other painters. In 1968, during a stay in the United Sates, he found what was to be the driving force behind his work: Speed and Movement. Since then, several personal exhibitions have made Doutreleau's work known world-wide. From Paris to Los Angeles, from Tokyo to Munich or Rio, his work is featured in several collections. "Tautness is the emotion which gives life to work. The cry is born in silence. Art is this cry which is repeated a thousand times, the painting is its battlefield...".
