Marc Chopy is an artist born in 1950 in Saint-Etienne, France, that starts his career as an etcher in the Claude Weisbuch Engraving Atelier after finishing his studies at l'École des Beaux-arts de Saint-Etienne in 1973. In 1975, his first pieces were displayed in numerous galleries as a collection of geometric abstractions and expressive engravings. After many years devoted to this medium and participating in biennales and exhibitions of engravings, mostly in his local area, Chopy switched to painting and sculpture in bigger formats and new figurations which allowed him to expand his career abroad. Nowadays, we can find his pieces in numerous fine-art private collections in France and the world, for example, Musée de Roanne, MAC de Lyon, FRAC Rhône Alpes, Fond National d'Art Contemporain PARIS, Lycée de RUMILLY, Université du J. Fourier GRENOBLE, Site le Corbusier FIRMINY etc.
